BARBER STREET
Barber Street is a recently acquired subsidiary of the Northern Lights Candle Company. As part of a brand refresh before rollout, a logo was requested that is “extremely versatile and somewhat minimal but maintains enough personality to have a ‘classic' retro feel." In line with this brief, I created a logo using clean fonts with subtle personality that could be easily adjusted for different applications while still keeping things fresh. I created multiple variations of the logo for easy use within different parameters to match candles with varying aesthetics. I hand-illustrated a set of vintage-inspired icons borrowing from vintage candle and barber shop imagery to further hone in on brand personality and visual style. Colors were chosen as a nod to the barber shop blue and red with a modern update and an added bit of warmth.
